STORY BEHIND THE BOTTLE
“Nemo Me Impune Lacessit”
The Victorian Scottish Regiment was an infantry unit formed in Victoria in 1898. During WWI, many members of the regiment served with the 5th Battalion, AIF and on their return, the VSR was granted the number designation ‘5’ and bestowed the honours of the 5th Bn AIF which had been raised solely for overseas service.
During WWII, the VSR was used in the defence of Australia although many of its members served overseas with the 2nd/5th Bn AIF. It was famously one of only two battalions to fight all the King’s enemies in WWII.
In 1960, the VSR joined the Royal Victoria Regiment with its customs and traditions maintained today by B Company and the Pipes and Drums.
